From opening doors that cause timelines to overlap to all of the multiverse Joeys and Crystals coming into sync as one! That might be cause of "dendritic drift in the multiverse strings"
And I want to know, where I can get a phone that will make calls from one realm to another!!
Thanks for asking, Todd. Since the runaway success of the story and our sudden catapulting to fame and fortune, we’ve been working non-stop with cutting-edge-tech-heads in Silicon Valley. I can’t reveal everything, but, it’s entirely possible you’ll soon be able to purchase your very own proto-model multiverse smart-chat communicator branded ‘the GGGT’ on the new 13 Network. Early adopter discount price is rumoured at c €10m per unit, so it will truly be a ‘phone for the people’.
Late to comment, but I love what you laid out in this chapter. The additional bomb context was very clever and the idea of multiple Crystals (and now Joeys) is fun and offers a great explanation on Crystal's strangeness, while still piling on new questions and opportunities. Very well done!
That’s very kind, Anthony. Thank you. I’m amazed we were able to produce such an oddly beautiful and coherent story despite all the necessary imaginative flights and genre stretching.
Still reflecting, but it seemed to exemplify what’s special about writing fiction on Substack. I can’t help wondering if the real story isn’t the camaraderie, craft and cooperation that emerged between us.
I totally agree. I really appreciate our community of fiction writers for their willingness to collaborate and innovate. I've seen this sort of thing start with enthusiasm only to peter out so many times, but our group really managed it--and it's a fun read that we all get to benefit from!
It’s twisty but I like it! Question though: is “the dude” the useless drinking version of Joey? Got kind of lost in the back and forth there. Have to admit I enjoyed this but I’m glad I don’t have to follow it!

Another great addition to the story!

And the plot entangles as the chapters progress...
Oh how gruesome, Mr. Grisly! :D
Very cool installment. Let's see where this goes next week haha.
😉 Thanks, Alex. And luckily no one's ghosted me yet for my ghastly puns.
Great chapter and great set up. Nice work, Adrian!
Thanks, Winston. Hope there's enough to have fun with!
Joey lowered his voice, sinking the receiver into his shoulder, “Is he in on it?”
“No, he just drinks way too much and will end up wasting your time.”
This is hilarious! Sorry, just had to point that out. Loved it.
A small homage to one of my all time favourite films.
The voice code thing is genius, Adrian. I just realized.... Wow!
It can be our secret! 😉

Thanks, Thomas. See, I read 'the dude' as the author himself slowly drinking his way to the end of his chapter!
